Calvin S. Niles

Born in Maxwell Hill, Christ Church, Barbados

Educated at St. Lawrence Elementary School and Boys Foundation School. Subsquently, International Relations at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus in 1972 before embarking on a course of further study at Pace University and the World Training Institute U.S.A. in Marketing and Export in Promotion, 1977.

He was awarded a Commonwealth Fellowship to Human Resource Management and Manpower Planning at the Institute of Manpower Planning and Research in New Delhi, India, 1995.

Employment History
Assistant teacher at Princess Margaret Secondary School, St. Philip, 1960.
Recruited for London Transport Board, London, United Kingdom, 1961.
Employed at the West Indies Commission, London, 1961-1962; served the Eastern Caribbean Commission and the Barbados Migrants Service Division, 1962-1966, before being appointed to the staff of the Barbados Hugh Commission in London in 1967
Subsequent appointments were:-
(1) Consul for Barbados at the Consulate General in New York- 1977
(2) Counsellor at the Barbados High Commission in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago- 1987. He became Deputy Chief Personnel Officer at Personnel Administration Division before retiring from the Barbados Public Service in October 1997.
In 1998, he accepted a consultancy with Michael Greaves Associates (B’dos) Inc.- a firm of International Cargo Consultants, before retiring in 2005.

Reading, listening to music, gardening and the pursuit of matters spiritual. Mr. Niles is married and has four (4) children and ten (10) grandchildren.
